Hard question to answer

Do you think we’re shaped more by our experiences or by who we are?

People in general are shaped by their own personal experiences in life, how could they not be? Random events good and bad will shape someone’s opinions and views of life especially if they are traumatized. Life’s events in childhood if positive influences their feeling of safety and makes the person feel more confident to grow through exploration.

However if a person’s childhood is horrifying that will 100% affect their life badly. Children who witness war and survive are forever changed because the human mind is very fragile.

Who you are inside can help or destroy you depending on your experiences and the results of how you handled it. If you are your own best friend and truly understand reality and your own limitations but never give up or stop trying because you believe in yourself I think you will be ok.

Anyone who has self hatred and doubt about themselves will suffer more from negative life experiences and might make things worse which is very sad. The person cannot help it is just who they have become may they truly find peace and happiness in their souls.

These are the extreme end of examples to prove a point. In general both experiences and your personal beliefs and code of life shape who you are. It also guides your direction to what you end up doing only sometimes because a lot of people have goals and will power so this also affects their life outcome too.
